This loss not only releases carbon stored in trees but also diminishes the future ability to sequester carbon. However, through dedicated conservation efforts like Peru’s Tambopata-Bahuaja Project there is hope. The UK’s biodiversity offers invaluable benefits, including picturesque landscapes, unique wildlife, clean air, and water, along with habitats that naturally sequester carbon to mitigate climate change. However, biodiversity in the UK is under severe threat, with 50% of its biodiversity already lost.
