We’re expanding our recognised Alternative Dispute Resolution schemes for Third-Party Intermediaries, now including the Dispute Resolution Ombudsman.

We’re expanding our recognised Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) schemes for Third-Party Intermediaries (TPIs), ensuring greater flexibility, compliance, and customer confidence. The Dispute Resolution Ombudsman (DRO) is now part of our recognised ADR schemes for TPIs enabling us to collaborate with a wider range of TPIs while ensuring customers continue to benefit from fair and impartial dispute resolution.

A Growing List of Recognised ADR Schemes

We are pleased to recognise multiple ADR schemes, ensuring TPIs have a range of options to meet compliance requirements. In addition to the DRO, we also recognise the Energy Ombudsman and the Utilities Intermediaries Association (UIA) as recognised dispute resolution schemes.

Commitment to Fair and Transparent Dispute Resolution

Recognising multiple ADR schemes reinforces our commitment to transparency, accountability, and customer protection. It provides customers with trusted mechanisms for resolving disputes efficiently, helping to build confidence in the services provided by TPIs.

What This Means for TPIs

  • Greater Flexibility: TPIs can choose from a range of recognised ADR schemes that best suit their needs.
  • Compliance Assurance: Working with recognised schemes ensures ongoing compliance with industry regulations.
  • Customer Confidence: A clear and recognised dispute resolution process strengthens trust between TPIs and customers.

Next Steps

If you’re a TPI working with us, we encourage you to check that you are registered with a recognised ADR scheme. By expanding our list of recognised ADR schemes, we’re enhancing opportunities for TPIs while ensuring customers receive the fair and impartial resolution they deserve.

Please note that the ADR schemes listed are recognised by SmartestEnergy Limited and SmartestEnergy Business Limited for the purposes of compliance with relevant regulatory obligations. Recognition does not constitute approval or endorsement of the scheme or the services it provides.
